An unprecedented incident occurred on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at\nabout 12:30 o’clock in the afternoon in Omdurman, Sudan. Sudanese National\nIntelligence and Security Service (NISS) raided the residence of Mr. Yasir\nAlsir Ali.  Mr. Ali was staying in bed\nrecovering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, where the bullet is still embedded\ninside his lung. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Ali was shot in the back at a peaceful protest, December 25,\n2018, in downtown Khartoum, the capital city of Sudan. He has been rushed to\nFedail Hospital in Khartoum where he underwent surgery to stop the bleeding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is an unlawful assault, and\nthere is grave concern for the safety of Mr. Ali, who is believed to be held\nincommunicado in NISS detention centers. There are also fears that security\nagents may try to attempt to impose a surgery without the full, free and\ninformed consent of Mr. Ali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
