Sudanese National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) have arrested and charged “Bushra Gamar Hussein Rahma” with espionage and organized work to topple the state, and allegedly tortured him while in custody. On August 14 , 2011, Bushra Gamar appeared before court and the judge decided to release him due to “insufficient evidences”, but Sudanese NISS agents re-arrested him same day and took him to an unknown location.
Recommended Action:
Please send faxes either in Arabic, English or in your own language:
• Expressing concern at the arrest and continuing of detention of Bushra Gamar Rahma.
• Requesting assurances that he is being humanly treated, that he has immediate and regular access to his family, lawyer, and any necessary medical attention.
• Urging the Sudanese authorities to respect the court order and immediately and unconditionally release Bushra Gamar Hussein Rahma.
