To: His Excellency Counselor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, Federal Attorney General of the United Arab Emirates

Mr. Mohamed Farouq Suliman, 52 years, a Sudanese citizen, has been arrested at Dubai Airport while about to depart for Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Consultative meetings of Sudanese political forces being held in the Kenyan capital.



Legal basis or reasons for the arrest: Unknown. None was given. No fair trial, no access to legal assistance, and no being informed of the nature and cause of the charges brought against him.


Sudan Human Rights Network is deeply concerned about the well-being of Mr. Suliman, and respectfully appeals to Your Excellency to urge the Emirati authorities to:
• Immediately and unconditionally release Mr. Mohamed Farouq Suliman
• Requesting assurances that he is being humanely treated, that he has immediate and regular access to his family, lawyers, and any necessary medical attention.
