Sudan Human Rights Network (SHRN) Welcomes the Human Rights Council’s Proposed Resolution to Establish a Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights Violations in Sudan.
The United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, and the United States have urged the United Nations Human Rights Council to establish a commission to investigate human rights violations in Sudan, particularly during the war, especially violations against women and children. Reports from Sudanese and international organizations have indicated the deaths of more than 7,000 people and injuries to over 15,000 others. fragmentation.
SHRN welcomes this proposed resolution, expressing its support and endorsement for the investigative mission and calling on everyone to provide all necessary support to enable it to fulfill its duties. fragmentation.
SHRN urges all civil society organizations and citizens to cooperate with the committee and provide information and data related to violations against civilians during the war. fragmentation.
SHRN reaffirms its steadfast stance calling for an end to the war. It has repeatedly called on the parties involved in the conflict to heed reason, halt the bloodshed, and return to negotiations immediately, without preconditions, in order to achieve a permanent ceasefire that spares the country from further division and fragmentation.
