Sudan Human Rights Network (SHRN) condemns the indiscriminate shelling of populated areas by the Rapid Support Forces and the extrajudicial killings committed by the militias affiliated with the Sudanese Army in the ongoing conflict between the Army forces and the Rapid Support Forces since April 2023.

The ongoing war is tearing apart our nation, dismantling the social fabric that binds us together, and perpetuating blatant human rights violations committed by the warring parties. This conflict is not just about political power; it is a direct assault on our humanity, dignity, and shared future.

After 18 months of conflict, the situation has deteriorated significantly, with civilians in regions like Darfur, Al Gezira, Khartoum, and Kordufan, among other areas of Sudan, facing constant threats to their lives and left trapped with no safe passage or protected zones. Due to institutional impunity, a lack of media coverage, widespread misinformation, and deliberate disinformation, Sudanese civilians’ suffering remains grossly overlooked, leading to a climate that allows further aggravation of these violations.
